Harry Potter and the Lost Podcast

film.jpgOver the past week, Dave, Steve, Laura and myself have made two attempts to record the podcast. Both have failed miserably. This is basically as a result of Apple’s Garageband mistakingly thinking ‘Save’ means ‘Delete’. Something we only realised at the end of our second failed recording of the show.

Like all bad news, it may take you a while to fully come to the terms of its ramifications. You’ll probably also have a few questions which I’ll attempt to answer now.

1. Does this means there will be no December Podcast?

No. We were planning to record our ‘January’ podcast next weekend, and upload it at the beginning of 2011. In light of recent events, this will be uploaded as our ‘December’ episode, and we’ll record a new show for January around the 15th of that month.

2.What was in this lost podcast? What have we missed out on?

In our Just Been Watching section:

Dave reviewed two of Steve Coogan’s recent projects: The Trip and the new web series of Alan Partridge.
Steve talked about Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace and Man to Man with Dean Learner
Laura spoke of her love for John Cusack and boom boxes in Say Anything….
Mark reviewed the follow up to Band of Brothers, The Pacific.

Our cinema review was of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.

Finally, we chatted about our favourite Christmas movies, and in light of that theme our Best Worst Movie was Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

3. Will we never get to hear those reviews/discussions again?

Our plan is to review Santa Claus Conquers the Martians as part of our new December podcast, and chat about our favourite Christmas movies before we do so. I will also write my reviews of The Pacific and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One for this site.

4. Okay. I’m feeling a little bit less upset now. However, what safeguards have you put in place to make sure this never happens again?

We’ve downloaded the much uglier, but much more reliable Audacity to record the December show on. I’ve also ordered the latest version of Garageband, which will hopefully mean we can again save files we have recorded.

5. Thanks for answering all my concerns, I now feel much more at ease.

You’re very welcome. I look forward to you downloading December’s podcast by the end of next weekend (Sunday 19th December). Aside from Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, we’ll also be giving you each of our Top Five Films of 2010. If you’d like your Top Five Films to be read out on the show, please email observealot(at)gmail(dot)com.
